Expert Group Meeting entitled “Tools for Enhancing CSO Accountability: Lessons Learnt from International Practices”

The Foundation for the Future organized an Expert Group Meeting entitled “Tools for Enhancing Civil Society Organizations’ Accountability: Lessons Learnt from International Practices”. The meeting took place in Amman, Jordan on May 9th and 10th, 2010. It brought together experts from more than 15 countries including Jordan, the United States, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Palestine, Pakistan, Tunisia and Morocco.
The meeting was an opportunity for representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the broader MENA region to discuss their experiences working towards better CSO accountability, with special consideration to lessons learnt and best practices. This enabled them to develop a set of culturally applicable tools for CSO accountability.
An expert group meeting was also held that aimed to create a network of experts on CSO accountability. This provided both the COSs and the Foundation for the Future with the appropriate insight for relevant future interventions and better involvement toward enhancing CSO accountability.
