Chief Judge Robert Henry is appointed as the President of Oklahoma City University
 
 

21 December, 2009- The newly appointed Member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Chief Judge Robert Henry of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has been selected to be the next President of Oklahoma City University (OCU).

Chief Judge Henry was appointed the 17th President of OCU out of 53 qualified candidates for the top post. A comprehensive national search process was conducted; Forty-three applications and an additional ten nominations were reviewed by the fifteen member search committee comprised of trustees, faculty, staff, and president of the Student Government Association.

"Judge Henry brings national and international visibility to the university," said Ron Norick, trustee and chairman of the search committee. "In addition to Judge Henry's exceptional legal and public service career, he is an acclaimed foreign relations scholar and international humanitarian."

Judge Henry, a former Oklahoma state attorney general, will take the position as of the beginning of July 2010. He previously served as dean of the Oklahoma City University Law School from 1991 to 1994."The opportunity to return to Oklahoma City University as its President and CEO is an exciting challenge that my wife, Jan, and I wholeheartedly embrace," Henry said in a statement released by the university.
